Spring Garden
May I take you on a tour of my garden?
Clematis vines twine around wrought-iron topiaries. Giant purple flowers with yellow centers bob against forest green leaves. Iridescent pink roses clothe a bush in the upper beds. A carpet of pink petals dusts the rock wall.
Hidden beneath the bush, a water-loving four leaf clover fills a birdbath where butterflies perch and drink.
Daisies sway in the breeze. Cascading crimson trumpet flowers beckon hummingbird moths to drink sweet sips of nectar. Life bursts from the ground, unfurls in the trees and flutters through the air.
Symmetry, harmony and beauty flow in the lines of a garden. Rest, shade and nourishment feed the body and soul.
“…You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11
I want to Live Above Neutral as a well-watered garden… ordered, life-giving, restorative…created by my Maker for His pleasure and usefulness.

Ok, so I mentioned in my email that I love to garden. Not on the same scale as you aparently. Your garden looks lush even from the small pictures you have posted. I need to get more plants from work this year. I think I should be getting a tiller as well. I love your pictures. I took a couple good butterfly pictures last year at the zoo when when they had the butterfly garden. I loved the picture with your little boy. I’m guessing we have boys about the same age. A couple years ago I took some great pics of my little guy in all his glory jumping off some pots outside. They were from the back shots so they were cute. I can understand why you enjoy the Macro. They’re so bright and vibrant! Thanks for sharing!!

Hi Mimi,
thanks so much for stopping by! Just a side note, Spring begins early here (early April) AND all our major growing takes place before end of May. Temps can top 100 the first week of June. In fact, it’s not even mid May yet & we’ll be at 91 tomorrow. So, the garden is lush right now w/early bloomers. They will die off w/hotter temps & then the heavy hitters (phlox, cone flowers, black eyed susans and daylillies) will take over.
I have two neighbors who share plants from their gardens. The three of us have a blast each year dividing our plants & sharing w/eachother & sharing seeds, etc. It’s a lot of fun!!! You might check on the web for a local plant swap..that can be a great way to acquire new plants w/o huge costs.
Also, tiller…our city has a “lending library” of tools (including tillers, trenchers, pole limb cutters, etc) that residents can borrow at no cost. Perhaps your city has something like this???
I hope you enjoy the coming summer & get lots of great pics of that little fella in your life.
